Who We Are…
Raven Watch Studios is a small, independent game studio building deep, persistent worlds meant to be explored together.
We make systems-driven RPGs with one core idea: A world should remember what you do in it. Not some stagnant storyline that forces you down one road the entire way. A living place that keeps score of your choices, friends, enemies, voyages, and the reputation you carve for yourself. Worlds are richer with a crew, and these are built for exactly that, from stem to stern.
You're making a name for yourself, not shooting for a bigger number.
Our debut flagship, Iron Latitudes, is a cooperative, open-world RPG set in a living New World. Storms, sea monsters, and hard-won treasure! The first world that remembers… But not our last!
How we use AI in our games
The short answer: AI is a tool here, not an author. A person signs everything that goes out, and wherever a human can do the job, a human does it.
- The game. Every line of story, every quest, every scrap of dialogue in Iron Latitudes is written and edited by people.
- Art. Just like our dialogue and quests, every art asset and animation that ships in Iron Latitudes comes from real artists, whether it is custom work or an asset we acquired from Fab. Every piece goes through a validation and verification process before we use it, and anything that fails does not ship.
- Voices. Every line of dialogue is written and read by a person before it is recorded. Casting is where a small studio hits its limit: we use as many human voice actors as we can, and where we cannot, we use synthesized voice-over, and we say so.
- Music. We use human-composed and human-performed music only. This includes working with leaders in their art to make sure that what we deliver is the real thing.
- Why we bother. We want to own what we ship, and we want to be able to look a player in the eye about how it was made. Tools change; that does not.
Where we use AI, we make it clear through Steam's AI disclosure on our store page, and it will be accurate on the day you read it.
